Time Away over Christmas and the New Year

2013 has arrived and already there has been lots happening.

We had time away from Sydney over the Christmas and New Year holiday period, and after an eventful few months, the break was very welcome.

We drove down to Khancoban for Christmas.  This is in the southern area of the NSW Alpine ski region, and is close to the Victorian border.  The rest of our group were staying in the campsite:  Alex's elder sister Barbara and her family drove up from Adelaide and we had 4 days with them.  We had a fantastic time all together.

Most days we spent some time down at the lake
and a perfect opportunity to try out our new waterproof camera
but it wasn't all sunshine - the storm one afternoon built up and came in very quickly

Alex's mates Mark and Sean spent a couple of nights at the campsite as part of their motorbike trip.  Pitching Mark's tent was a male bonding session

On Christmas Day we started with a BBQ breakfast
and then we had a wonderful game of Boules with Barbara, Phil, Thomas, Rachel and Daniel.  This was a perfect way to spend a glorious Christmas morning.

The bike riders left early on Boxing Day on the rest of their road trip.
Bella had enjoyed her time swimming at the lake but she was looking forward to the rest of her road trip.  Sean and Bella certainly looked comfortable as they rode off.

We really enjoyed our time down in Khancoban and we drove back to Sydney, visiting friends on the way.  We spent a day in Sydney and then headed out to Evans Plains, just outside Bathurst - about 3 hours west of Sydney.

Tracey and Mike have recently bought a property there, and Alex was in seventh heaven helping Mike build his greenhouse.  We spent nearly a week there and saw in the New Year.  Temperatures soared, Tracey cooked up a storm each day and we enjoyed our time there.

Alex loved the routine we had
There was one day we did need to phone the hospital to sort out medications and we were very pleasantly surprised at how easy this was - the service we received from our Community Nurse was fantastic and the problem we had was fixed.

To end this holiday post, here's one really good looking, happy "Aussie bloke"
